On July 25 at 4:45 pm, East Umatilla County Rural Fire Protection District was called to quick moving fire that was heading into timber on Pambrun Road, at milepost 4.5 at the Wildhorse Creek Draw.
Upon arrival, two water tenders from the Betts and Davis Ranches were spraying water, putting the fire out. When East Umatilla County RFPD arrived they put out hot spots and started mop up stages until the Bureau of Indian Affairs arrived and the scene was released to them and Tribal Fire.
"Thank you to the farmers and ranchers for the rapid response and for keeping the fire in check until we got there," said Assistant Chief Andrews.
There were no injuries and this fire is still under investigation at this time.
